Experiential Route

What You'll See: Typical 7-Day Itinerary

Seven islands for seven different souls. The skipper will organize the daily stops based on prevailing winds to ensure the most comfortable anchorages. The order of the islands may vary to guarantee the best sailing experience.

Day 1

Boarding & sailing toward Vulcano

Check-in at the Sicilian marina (e.g., Portorosa or Capo d'Orlando), stowing provisions, and a short sail. Drop anchor in Baia di Ponente in Vulcano to admire the first unforgettable sunset over the sea with smoking fumaroles on the horizon.

Day 2

The Faraglioni of Lipari & the coves of Salina

Morning sail passing between the majestic Faraglioni of Lipari and the white Pumice Quarries. In the afternoon, set course for Salina for a swim in cobalt-blue waters and evening anchorage in the evocative bay of Pollara or at Santa Marina.

Day 3

Panarea & surrounding islets

Sail toward glamorous Panarea. Snorkeling stops among the rocks of Lisca Bianca, Basiluzzo, and in the spectacular Cala Junco. Perfect evening to go ashore and enjoy the island's chic atmosphere.

Day 4

Stromboli's Sciara del Fuoco

Head north toward "Iddu", the active volcano. Breathtaking swim beneath the Strombolicchio lighthouse and, at dusk, a privileged position by catamaran in front of the Sciara del Fuoco to witness volcanic eruptions against the starry sky.

Days 5-7

The wild charm of Filicudi, Alicudi & return

Escape to the most unspoiled islands of the archipelago. Iconic swims at La Canna in Filicudi and the Grotta del Bue Marino, before savoring the surreal silence of Alicudi. On Friday, point the bow back toward the Sicilian coast to return to port.

Frequently Asked Questions About This Cruise

Why is a catamaran ideal for the Aeolian Islands?

Harbors in the Aeolian Islands are small or sometimes non-existent on certain islands (such as Stromboli or Alicudi), so you often sleep at anchor. The roll-free stability of a catamaran, combined with huge bow sunbathing areas and the flybridge, guarantees exceptional comfort at anchor that a monohull can rarely match.

When is the best time to sail in Sicily?

From late May to October the weather is ideal. July and August are vibrant and lively, but if you are looking for exclusive coves and total relaxation, we recommend the weeks of June and September, when the water is warm and anchorages are less crowded.

Do we sail under canvas or by motor?

Whenever the archipelago's thermal breezes allow, the skipper will make the most of every opportunity to sail in total silence. For longer crossings in calm winds (or to keep on schedule), engines will be used to ensure the group's comfort.
